Police don't suspect any criminal activity in connection with Wegner's disappearance. Her parents say she left home on her own -- but they have no idea where she may be. They are hoping signs posted around town and the surrounding areas will lead to information as to Wegner's whereabouts.

Steve and Michelle Wegner say their daughter left home while they were gone after an argument with her mother.

"It's super, super hard. You never think something like this is going to happen. She's never done anything like this," Wegner's parents said.

"In terms of how long she thought she was going to be gone, we don't know what she was thinking. If it was just a break to get away for a short time, or if circumstances transpired that she never would have anticipated, we don't know," Michelle Wegner said.

The only clue her parents have is a short, hand-written note.

"It said, 'I'm alright. Pray for me. Love you and bye.' I think she wanted us to feel like she wasn't going harm herself," Wegner's parents said.

Relatives, police and volunteers from the community are actively searching for Danielle Wegner.

This, as her parents encourage those across the state to be on the lookout for a girl with long, straight brown hair who may be fatigued from the heat.

"Just be observant. Each person can make a difference. Your call might be the call that puts us on the right track," Wegner's parents said.

The Wegners said they want their daughter to know just how much they miss her.

"We love you. We love you more than you can imagine. We want you home. Please please come home," Wegner's parents said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
