1 person taken to hospital with minor injuries after crash on I-41 at Highway K

WASHINGTON COUNTY  -- Officials with the Wisconsin State Patrol say a Milwaukee woman suffered minor injuries in a crash involving a tractor trailer and a box truck on I-41 southbound at County Highway K, north of Slinger in Washington County Wednesday, August 3rd.

The call for this incident came in around 10:00 a.m. It happened in the southbound lanes of I-41 in Washington County.

Slinger police, officials with the Washington County Sheriff's Office and Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene.

Officials with the Wisconsin State Patrol say the driver of the tractor trailer, owned by Quad/Graphics, wasn't hurt.

The driver of the box truck was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries and observation.

The Quad/Graphics tractor trailer had to be off-loaded by hand, as the trailer broke in half when a wrecker tried to remove it from the ditch/shoulder -- and that's why it is taking so long to reopen the area to traffic.

As of 3:00 p.m., the right lane of I-41 SB at County Highway K remained closed, and delays in excess of three miles were reported. The scene was cleared around 5:00 p.m.
