Milwaukee police: 1 dead, 2 injured following separate shooting incidents

Shooting near 4th and Chambers



MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred Sunday night, August 7th. One person was killed and two others were injured as a result of the shootings.

The first shooting occurred near 4th and Chambers just after 9 p.m.

Police say a 29-year-old Milwaukee man and a 13-year-old Milwaukee boy were shot outside a residence.

The 29-year-old victim, identified as Carnelle Adkins, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 13-year-old boy was transported to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Shooting near 26th and Meinecke



A preliminary investigation has revealed the incident may have stemmed from a fight earlier in the day.  MPD continues to seek suspect(s).

The second shooting occurred near 26th and Meinecke just after 10 p.m.

Investigators say a 58-year-old man was taken to the hospital with a serious injury. He is in stable condition.

Police have not made any arrests in this case and the investigation is ongoing.
