Safe Summer Brewers Game:" Mayor Barrett takes more than 1,000 kids to Miller Park

MILWAUKEE -- More than 1,000 kids took a special trip to Miller Park Thursday, August 11th.

They took part in the 12th annual Safe Summer Brewers Game at Miller Park.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett hosted the event. Students got a free ticket to the game and some ballpark snacks, like hot dogs.

One of the students even got to throw out the first pitch!

The game was a reward for students involved in a wide variety of summer programs run by non-profit groups throughout the city.

The Brewers Community Foundation donated all of the tickets for the event.
