MILWAUKEE -- The final day of Mexican Fiesta on Sunday, August 28th kicked off with the Fiesta Run/Walk.

Many enjoyed a light, healthy breakfast of fruits and smoothies, and participants joined in on a large group Zumba class to get their blood flowing before the run/walk.

Organizers focused on diabetes and obesity awareness.

"It`s just because we needed to bring awareness about issues that effect the Hispanic community, but we know these are issues that effect everybody, so obesity and diabetes are huge issues that we have and a nice way to prevent them is walk and stay healthy," Tamara Olivas, Mexican Fiesta communications director said.

The run/walk ended with a procession to the Marcus Amphitheater where all participants enjoyed a bilingual Mass before Mexican Fiesta officially opened at noon.
