Cudahy fox found with trap on his paw has a long road to recovery

MILWAUKEE -- The small fox discovered in Cudahy earlier this week, with a rat trap clamped to its foot continues to recover at Wisconsin Humane Society's Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.

According to the rehabilitation center, the fox's paw was severely hurt -- including multiple toes fractured, and soft tissue was damaged.

The fox's paw was cleaned and dried, and a shield made out of a plastic water bottle is being used over his paw in hopes it will keep the fox from chewing on his own foot.

The Wisconsin Humane Society says the little fox still has a long way to go in his recovery.
