"One more time in the pool:" Crowds relish the last hours of swimming outdoors in 2016

MILWAUKEE COUNTY -- It's the last hurrah of summer -- and some Milwaukee County pools are ready to close for the season.

The crowd at Cool Waters in West Allis was thankful for a beautiful Monday in September on Labor Day.

"It's the perfect way to end it. I know fall is coming, so one more time in the pool," said Fran Daigle.

Families making the most of having Labor Day off enjoyed one last dip -- or one final time down the water slide at Cool Waters.

"I wanted to swim one more time. She wants to swim one more time because she had to start school and she was kind of sad," Daigle said.

Most Milwaukee County pools have already shut down for the season. But Cool Waters, the Schulz Family Aquatic Center and the Tosa Pool at Hoyt Park were open on Labor Day.

The outdoor swimming season for Milwaukee County Parks ends on Labor Day. But the county has two indoor pools -- Pulaski and Noyes. Those will remain open.
