Local property values climb after post-recession lull

Property values are on the rise in southeastern Wisconsin.

According to the Public Policy Forum, Milwaukee alone saw a 4.1 percent increase over 2015.

Most of that was due to commercial properties. Residential values grew less than one percent.

Other areas with strong growth included Pleasant Prairie, where values jumped 10.5 percent, along with Hartford and Brookfield.
