Chase between driver in stolen semi, police lasts more than 3 hours

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. -- A chase between a semi and police lasted more than three hours on Tuesday afternoon, September 13th.

The pursuit began around 10:30 a.m. PST in Apple Valley. According to police, the truck was stolen -- and when police tried to stop the driver, he refused and took off.

Authorities say they were in contact with the driver throughout the entire chase. The driver in the truck told police he was not armed -- and does not want to go back to jail.

The driver did not drive erratically -- and was even cautious when driving through intersections.

In the end, the driver of the semi pulled into what appeared to be a rest stop -- where he surrendered and was promptly arrested by police.
