Burlington High School evacuated after possible threat discovered; threat wasn't credible

BURLINGTON -- Burlington High School was evacuated Tuesday, September 27th after the school's administration was made aware of a possible threat.

The evacuation happened shortly before 2:00 p.m.

Students and staff members went to a building next door.

Law enforcement officials responded to the school, and investigated the possible threat.

Students were eventually sent home at the normal dismissal time.

The investigation revealed this threat was not credible. It's unclear what type of threat this was.

Classes will resume as scheduled Wednesday, September 28th.

FOX6 News is told should it be determined someone is responsible for this threat, they would face discipline at the school level and possible citations or charges from law enforcement.
