Milwaukee DPW: Streets to close downtown this week for repaving

MILWAUKEE — Officials with the Milwaukee Department of Public Works are alerting drivers about upcoming street closures in downtown Milwaukee associated with a repaving project.

According to a news release from the DPW, the following streets will close one day each for repaving:

  • Tuesday, October 4th: North 4th Street, West Wisconsin to West Clybourn Avenues. The street will close at approximately 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday and should open to traffic by the evening commute. The intersections at West Michigan Street and West Clybourn Avenue will remain open during the project.
  • Wednesday, October 5th: North Jefferson Street, East St. Paul Avenue to East Erie Street. The street will close at approximately 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday and should open to traffic by the evening commute.

Both projects are scheduled as stated above, weather permitting.

Commuters are advised to slow down, watch for detour routes, and add extra time navigating this area, or use an alternate route to and from their destinations.
