Direct supervision officer at the Kenosha Co. Detention Center placed on administrative leave

KENOSHA COUNTY -- A direct supervision officer at the Kenosha County Detention Center has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.

Officials say on Monday morning, October 3rd, deputies were dispatched to a report of a vehicle accident on County Trunk Highway E. It was reported that the vehicle had been traveling northbound on 30th Avenue -- and was reported to have been driving recklessly. The vehicle was located by deputies stopped on the bike trail at that location and the operator was found to be unconscious and not breathing

The operator was treated by Kenosha Fire Department personnel and then transported to Kenosha Memorial Hospital.

Deputies conducting the investigation located drug paraphernalia in the vehicle -- and based on the treatment administered at the scene suspected the use of opiates was a cause of the operator’s initial condition.

Deputies also located identification in the vehicle indicating that the operator was a detentions division employee. The investigation of the incident was turned over to the Kenosha Police Department.
