ELKHORN — Wisconsin’s top Republicans are sticking by Donald Trump while they also denounce newly released lewd comments he made about women 11 years ago.

House Speaker Paul Ryan, Sen. Ron Johnson and Gov. Scott Walker are among the Republicans who are scheduled to appear at a unity rally Saturday afternoon in Ryan’s southeast Wisconsin congressional districts. All three condemned Trump on Friday night for the comments, but none withdrew their support.

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) released the following statement:

“I am sickened by what I heard today. Women are to be championed and revered, not objectified. I hope Mr. Trump treats this situation with the seriousness it deserves and works to demonstrate to the country that he has greater respect for women than this clip suggests. In the meantime, he is no longer attending tomorrow’s event in Wisconsin.”

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) released the following statement:

“Donald Trump’s recent comments are completely indefensible and I refuse to even attempt to try and do so.”

Trump was originally set to appear at the annual “Fall Fest” event, which would have been his first joint campaign stop with either Ryan or Johnson. But he canceled Friday night, saying he’s preparing for Sunday’s debate. His running mate Mike Pence is to speak instead.

Trump apologized via video on Friday for the vulgar and sexually charged comments.

Mr Trump is soon heading to trial over accusations he raped a 13 yr old girl.

I can only imagine how his recorded own words about not being able to control himself, might be the prosecutors wildest dream.
