Police: Woman dies after collision at 51st and Auer in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- A 23-year-old woman was was killed after a crash near 51st and Auer in Milwaukee early Sunday, October 9th.

Officials say around midnight, a car headed east on W. Auer Ave failed to stop for a stop sign at N. 51st St. That car collided with a another vehicle driven by a 58-year-old woman from Milwaukee.

During the collision, the 23-year-old woman, identified as Savanna Scott, was ejected from the first car and landed in the grass next to the road. The first car then collided with a concrete light pole that fell on Scott, who died at the scene despite life-saving efforts.

The other occupants of the first car fled the scene on foot. Police say a 22-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were taken into custody after seeking medical treatment.

The female driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for medical care.

MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days.
