2 of 3 men busted while officials say they were harvesting pot in Forest Co. worked for City of Milwaukee

FOREST COUNTY -- FOX6 News has learned two of the three men busted while officials say they were harvesting 600 pounds of marijuana plants in Forest County worked for the City of Milwaukee's Department of Neighborhood Services.

The men were arrested following the drug bust involving the seizure of more than 600 pounds of marijuana plants from a Forest County property.

51-year-old Dennis Pratt of Waukesha, 35-year-old Kevin Hying of Big Bend and 32-year-old Steven Wasechek of Milwaukee each face the following charges:

Kevin Hying and Steven Wasechek worked for the City of Milwaukee's Department of Neighborhood Services, FOX6 News has learned.

We're told Hying resigned on Monday, October 10th, and Wasechek resigned on Wednesday, October 12th.

Hying was a special enforcement code inspector for six-and-a-half years with DNS. Wasechek worked for DNS as a residential code inspector for nearly three years.

Forest County Sheriff's deputies say in the early morning hours of October 8th, a search warrant was executed on a large outdoor marijuana grow operation in the Town of Armstrong Creek after a concerned citizen alerted authorities.

Three people, a 51-year-old Waukesha man, a 32-year-old Milwaukee man and a 35-year-old Big Bend man, were arrested.

Officials say they found marijuana, cocaine and other drug paraphernalia inside the residence on the property.

The men were arrested as they were harvesting the plants, deputies say.

Pratt and Hying will be in court on October 19th for their adjourned initial appearances.

In court on Wednesday, October 12th, cash bond was set at $5,000 each for all three of the men.

Wasechek has a preliminary hearing set for November 30th. He has pleaded not guilty.
