Bird of prey bruised: Truck driver strikes red-tailed hawk while driving on interstate



WAUKESHA COUNTY -- FOX6 News obtained photographs and video from a semi driver who struck a red-tailed hawk on the interstate. The bird of prey ended up getting lodged between his truck's visor and the windshield.

The driver indicated he stopped in Muskego after realizing what happened -- and he called police. Officers managed to get the hawk out of its predicament. It slid down from the visor position to a spot in front of the engine.

Despite being struck, officials say the hawk had no serious injuries -- only soft tissue damage and bruising. It was brought into to the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) on October 5th and released on Tuesday, October 11th.
