"Kids and Cops in Costumes" turns District 7 open house into haunted house

MILWAUKEE -- Ghosts, goblins and dinosaurs invaded Milwaukee Police District 7 on Saturday, October 15th.

The "Kids and Cops in Costumes" event invited children to tour the station.

The station's cell block was closed for the day, converted into a haunted house.

Police say it's not only fun for the kids but it's also full of good resources for the community.

"We have several different resources for the community. We have our recruitment, we have our faith-based initiative and basically it allows the community to get a behind the scenes look at the district," said Capt. Boris Turcinovic, Milwaukee Police District 7.

Years ago, the event started out just as an open house event. However, the district took to the season over time and made it a haunted, open house.
