Jailed for armed robbery, but now could face "battery to a corrections officer" charge

RACINE COUNTY -- He was already in jail for armed robbery charges, now Deonte Anderson faces a possible charge of "battery to a corrections officer."

Officials with the Racine County Sheriff's Office say late on Monday, October 17th, Anderson violently attacked a Racine County Jail Corrections Officer in the intake area of the jail. Additional staff members responded and were able to restrain the inmate.

The corrections officer was taken to Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Hospital for treatment of injuries to his facial area in the attack.

A recommended charge of “battery to a corrections officer” is being submitted to the Racine County district attorney for review.
