First since 1945! Excitement palpable as Cubs fans gear up for World Series play

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs are in the World Series -- and the championship run is making the team part of a Chicago tradition.

For the first time ever, the Lions outside the Art Institute of Chicago are wearing Cubs caps -- which went up on Monday morning, October 24th.

There is a lot of excitement surrounding both teams that have made their way into the 2016 World Series -- the Cubs and the Cleveland Indians. The Cubs' struggles have been well-documented, and the Indians haven't won the World Series since 1948.

That is pushing ticket prices through the roof.

The average ticket price for Game 3, Game 4 and Game 5 at Wrigley Field -- going for about $7,200!

Those in Cleveland are over the moon about the Indians' World Series drought coming to an end -- and Cubs fans have been waiting even longer! In fact, this year's matchup in the fall classic features the longest combined drought in World Series history -- 174 years!

The Indians last won the series when Harry Truman was president! And it was 1945 when the Cubs last made an appearance.

The Chicago Cubs have not won a World Series since 1908 -- an awful lot of "wait till next years!"

This year, it'll be the Cubs or the Indians crowned World Series champions!
