About The NEW Theatre on Main (website)

Theatre of Oconomowoc LTD, DBA The NEW Theatre on Main (a.k.a. TOM) is Oconomowoc’s premier non-profit 501(c)(3) community theater located in beautiful Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Winner of the 2012 and 2013 “Best Theatre Group” in the Milwaukee area on the WISN A-List, TOM is dedicated to providing top-quality entertainment, new playwright opportunities, educational workshops and community events. The theater produces five Broadway musicals and plays annually, drawing some of the best talent available in Southeast Wisconsin.

In 2005, TOM established its roots in the heart of downtown Oconomowoc, renovating the building once known as the historic Snyder’s Department Store into Oconomowoc’s first theater! It had meager beginnings, with stackable chairs and the stage on the floor. Eventually, the configuration of the venue changed, and the stage was elevated. In 2009 major renovations took place, with permanent theater-style seats being added and a ticket booth being built.
