"Every year we come out:" More than 175 vendors offer holiday goodies at Holiday Craft & Gift Expo

FRANKLIN -- If unique gifts are what you're after this Christmas, the Holiday Craft & Gift Expo was the place to be this weekend! The annual event at the Milwaukee County Sports Complex was as much fun for vendors as it was for customers.

The event is a tradition for Sheri Corigiat and her friends.

"Every year we come out. We bring our little list of stuff that we need," Corigiat said.

The Holiday Craft & Gift Expo featured more than 175 vendors selling anything from homemade holiday decorations to specialty food items.

"We have tried to grow and it continues to get larger," Jim Torbenson said.

Hany Masoud

The show featured many local artists, but Hany Masoud, an Egyptian glass blower brought his talents from across the globe. No two ornaments made by Masoud are the same.

"Each one is special, unique. You cannot find two pieces exact the same -- even if I want to make it exact same -- I won`t be able to. Because I don`t use -- it`s all free hand. I don`t use any models. No pattern to follow. Whatever comes to my head I make it," Masoud said.

Masoud said the smiles he gets from customers are just as special as a purchase.

"I feel proud and I feel like I`m touching the sky because people here are appreciating the art," Masoud said.

And shoppers like Sheri Corigiat went home happy.

"Yes! There`s been a few years where we`ve brought a truck!" Corigiat said.
