Historic downtown Milwaukee weather beacon goes modern with lighting upgrade

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee’s iconic Gas Light building is undergoing some changes.

The LED lights inside the building are being upgraded and reprogrammed to flicker when it rains or snows.

There is also some different holiday color schemes in the works.

The building manager declined to say the amount spent on the lighting upgrade, but said it is “significant.”
