Milwaukee Business Journal: Allen Edmonds acquired for $255M by Missouri shoe company

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Business Journal reports that Allen Edmonds Shoe Corp. has been acquired from private equity firm Brentwood Associates by Caleres Inc. for $255 million.

The Port Washington-based men's shoe and apparel manufacturer will join the brand portfolio for Missouri-based Calares.

Diane Sullivan, CEO, president and chairman of Caleres, said "we think we've acquired one of the great gems in men's footwear."

Allen Edmonds has been making shoes since 1922. It still follows a manufacturing process created by Elbert Allen and Bill Edmonds when they opened their first factory in Wisconsin.
