Fond du Lac police investigate attempted armed robbery at Speedway gas station

FOND DU LAC -- Fond du Lac police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred early Thursday morning, December 15th at the Speedway gas station Johnson Street. Police were called to the scene just before 1:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, responding officers were advised by an employee that a male entered Speedway and demanded cash from the register after he displayed a pocket knife.  No money was turned over by staff, and the male suspect fled on foot.

The area was searched with a Fond du Lac Police Department K-9 Unit, but the suspect was not located.  The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office also assisted in checking the area for the suspect.

The suspect is described as a black male, possibly 25-30 years old, thin build, about  5’10” to 6’1” tall, wearing a black over grey coat/fleece with black zipper, jeans and black facemask.  No one was injured during this incident.
