Panthers fall to Leathernecks, 75-59

MILWAUKEE — Mike Miklusak had a double-double, Brandon Gilbeck scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Western Illinois snapped a four-game skid with a 75-59 win over Milwaukee on Saturday.

Miklusak had 14 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. Garret Covington also scored 14, Delo Bruster added 13 and C.J. Duff 11.

Duff hit two 3-pointers during a 21-3 run that gave the Leathernecks (3-7) a 16-point lead with eight minutes left in the first half and Western Illinois led by double figures the rest of the way.

Cody Wichmann hit five 3s and scored a career-high 19 for Milwaukee (4-8). Jeremiah Bell added 13 points.

Western Illinois shot 62 percent (18 of 29) in the first half and led 44-25 at the break.

The Panthers made just 19 of 52 from the field and 13 of 22 (59 percent) free throws.
