Police release person arrested in connection with fatal shooting of Mount Mary student
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police said Tuesday, January 3rd the male who was arrested in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Tajah Williams was released.

Officials said upon further investigation, it was determined he was not responsible.
MPD continues to investigate and seek suspects.
Williams was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds early Monday morning, December 26th near 41st and Vienna. She later died at the hospital.
Williams was a student-athlete at Mount Mary University.
Her former teammates on the Mount Mary women's basketball team took the court Tuesday evening for the first time since her death -- and they said they're now playing for her.
"Tajah was one of the greatest friends I had. It's absolutely devastating for us. She was our teammate, but more importantly, she was our friend and supporter," a teammate said.
Williams didn't play on the Blue Angels basketball team this year, but her friends said she was still involved.
"All of us are still in shock," a teammate said.

On Tuesday evening, there was a reminder of Williams on the bench.
"We wanted to put her number on the bunch because we wanted her to be with us," a teammate said.
"She`s a part of the Blue Angels family even though she`s not here. Her heart is still within the team and the court," a teammate said.

Despite a tough loss Tuesday, the women said they'll always have Williams on their team.
"We keep telling ourselves that god takes the best angels first -- and she was most certainly a Blue Angel, and we will always have her there with us," a teammate said.

The university issued the below statement on December 28th:
Mount Mary University is shocked and deeply saddened by this tragedy. We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Tajah. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they mourn this loss. This is difficult news for our university and we will take steps to honor and remember Tajah when faculty and students return to campus in the new year. In the interim, we are providing grief counseling for those members of the Mount Mary community who need it. We ask that everyone keep Tajah and her friends and family in their thoughts and prayers during this holiday season.
Williams' funeral is Wednesday, January 4th.
