3 injured following crash on Moorland Road near Lincoln Avenue in New Berlin

NEW BERLIN -- The New Berlin Police Department responded to a serious crash involving three vehicles at Moorland Road near Lincoln Avenue Saturday afternoon, February 11th.

Three people were injured and transported to the hospital by the New Berlin Fire Department.

According to police, a Chevy Prism, driven by a 33 year-old New Berlin woman, was southbound on Moorland and made a left turn on Lincoln Avenue to go eastbound, when it was struck by a northbound Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by a 60 year-old Kenosha man.

A tire came off of the Prism during impact and struck a Kia Soul that had been travelling southbound on Moorland.  The driver of the Kia is a 65 year-old New Berlin woman.

The driver of the Prism and her juvenile daughter were transported to Froedtert and Children’s Hospital by ambulance.  An adult female passenger in the Jeep was transported by ambulance with minor injuries.

The accident is still under investigation, but preliminary reports are that neither speed nor alcohol were a factor in this crash.

Officials say northbound Moorland Road was closed from Cleveland Avenue to Lincoln Avenue. Moorland Rd. reopened to traffic around 11:15 p.m.
