Police: 61-year-old pedestrian killed when vehicles collided near 17th and Vliet

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a collision that ended with a pedestrian dying in the area of 17th and Vliet Streets on Saturday evening, March 4th.

Police said two vehicles were involved in the crash that happened around 6:45 p.m. A 61-year-old woman who was crossing the street was struck by one of the vehicles and passed away at the scene. The victim has been identified as Denice Fells.

A 23-year old man and a 30-year old man, both from Milwaukee remain in custody.

The investigation is ongoing and MPD will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.

A man living in the neighborhood said his daughter alerted him to the crash. He was startled to learn someone was killed.

"I'm sorry to hear. That's just real tragic. I have feelings for them and it could've been one of mine. Much condolences to the family," said Sylvester Turner.
