3 men seriously hurt after shooting during argument stemming from dice game



MILWAUKEE -- Three men were shot and seriously injured during an argument believed to have stemmed from a dice game on Thursday afternoon, March 9th.

According to police, around 1:00 p.m., suspects came up to the group playing the dice game, trying to rob them. One man fired a handgun at the victims. Another fired at them with an assault rifle.

One of the victims reportedly ran into the Hot Spot corner store for help.

A 20-year-old man, a 22-year-old man and a 24-year-old man were hurt.

Streets were blocked off for several hours, and at least one stray bullet hit a parked car on the street. Fortunately, no one was injured in that car.

FOX6 News spoke with a man who knew two of the victims, and was trying to help them find jobs.

"They were going to be involved in an anti-violence summit March 18th, at Mercy Memorial Baptist Church. They were supposed to participate," said Shawn Moore, community activist.

Police are still actively searching for suspects.

There was concern for a nearby school because this all happened around dismissal time and the principal ran over to try to make sure the situation was under control before the kids went home.
