"I am blowing this (expletive) up at 1:00 sharp:" Homestead H.S. EVACUATED due to threat

MEQUON -- Homestead High School in Mequon was EVACUATED on Thursday, April 6th as a result of a bomb threat.

Officials with the Mequon-Thiensville School District said in a statement the threat was found written on a bathroom stall in the high school. It read: "I am blowing this (expletive) up at 1:00 sharp."

Students were released early (around 12:30 p.m.), and a search of the building ensued, involving K-9 officers. The search was completed around 3:30 p.m.

Officials said there is no further risk to the school -- and classes will resume as scheduled Friday. Staff will be ready to support and provide resources to students who may experience anxiety as a result of this incident.

“We are deeply disappointed that an individual at Homestead made a choice that was not reflective of our safe and student-centered environment,” said Superintendent of Schools Demond Means in a statement. “Rest assured that when the individual responsible for this inappropriate note is identified, swift and significant discipline will be imposed.”
