Prosecutors DROP sexual assault of a student charge filed against Cedarburg H.S. teacher

OZAUKEE COUNTY — Prosecutors on Thursday, April 6th DROPPED a sexual assault of a student by school staff charge filed against a Cedarburg High School teacher placed on an "indefinite leave of absence." The charges were dropped after 26-year-old Paul Smith made his initial appearance in court.

Prosecutors said he admitted to having sex with a student he taught during the 2015-2016 school year after she graduated in 2016.

Smith made an appearance in court in Ozaukee County Thursday. This after Cedarburg police arrested Smith on Wednesday.
