Deputy, another driver hurt when squad, vehicle collided in Waukesha



WAUKESHA -- A Waukesha County sheriff's deputy and another driver were hurt when the deputy's vehicle and another vehicle collided Tuesday, May 30th.

Officials with the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department said around 3:30 p.m., a marked patrol unit was responding to a call for assistance on I-43 in Mukwonago. While responding, the deputy's patrol unit was involved in a collision with a Ford pickup truck.

The collision happened at East Avenue and Les Paul Parkway in Waukesha.

The deputy and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

We're told the deputy involved is in his early 20s, and has been with the department for less than a year.

Waukesha police are now investigating.
