MEMPHIS — There were long lines in Memphis on Saturday, July 8th, after rumors that an NBA star would be taking care of people’s power bills.

The rumor spread that former Memphis Grizzlies player, Zach Randolph, donated $1 million to a utility company.

Randolph later tweeted that the rumor was false.

However, some customers did notice their bills were lower than usual on Friday. The power company said that was the result of a technical glitch, not Randolph paying anyone’s bills.
