"It's something that shouldn't happen:" 4 juveniles sought, accused of vandalizing church



OAK CREEK -- An Oak Creek church was hit by a group of juveniles who authorities say caused thousands of dollars worth of damage. The crime happened at St. Matthew's Church on Saturday, July 1st. Police are asking for your help identifying the four juveniles.

According to police, the juveniles came through the south side of the property -- from Northbrook or Regency. They played basketball for a while and then between 10:18 p.m. and 10:34 p.m., they turned their attention toward the church.

Police say the suspects picked up landscaping rocks and threw them at the church, breaking four windows and a door. Once they gained entry, officials say the suspects dumped cleaning supplies all over.

"It's stupid. What's the point of breaking into the school and vandalizing stuff?" asked Johnny Weinhold. "It's something that shouldn't happen."

Officials say roughly $5,000 worth of damage was caused to St. Matthew's.
