Alcohol believed a factor: 1 dead, 1 seriously hurt in crash on Highway 164 in Waukesha Co.

WAUKEHSA COUNTY -- One person was killed and another was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash Monday night, September 11th in Waukesha County.

It happened around 11:20 p.m. on STH 164 at Jay Lane in the Town of Lisbon.

It was reported that a Cadillac travelling southbound on STH 164 crossed the centerline and traveled into the northbound lane, causing a northbound Dodge to take evasive action.  The northbound Dodge left the roadway and rolled into the ditch on the east side of the road.



The Cadillac continued southbound in the northbound lane and collided with a Mazda traveling northbound on STH 164 at Jay Lane.

The operator and sole occupant of the Mazda, a 44-year-old woman from the City of Milwaukee, was pronounced deceased at the scene.



The operator and sole occupant of the Cadillac, a 23-year-old woman from the City of Pewaukee, was transported via Flight for Life to Froedtert Memorial Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The operator and sole occupant of the Dodge, a 59-year-old man from Waupun, sustained no injuries and was released at the scene.

STH 164, from Good Hope Road to Plainview Road, remained closed for several hours while the accident was investigated.  The crash remains under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
