MILWAUKEE -- A shootout on Milwaukee's northwest side has left a neighborhood shaken. It also leaves a 20-year-old woman injured. People in the area say they frequently hear gunfire. Friday morning, November 17th, the shootout went on for several blocks.

"There was two different guns, so you know there was two different shooters," said Gwendolyn Davis, neighbor.

Gwendolyn Davis heard the shootout around 1:45 a.m. Milwaukee police rushed to the scene after one of the vehicles involved stopped in the parking lot of a restaurant. A witness says those inside the car took off. They left a woman passenger behind, injured by gunfire.

"I stayed up until it calmed down. Police, all the responders, it was everywhere. You couldn't sleep no way from the noise," said Davis.

Firefighters from a firehouse across the street responded and took the injured woman to a hospital. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening. Gunshot holes remain in the window and walls of the restaurant.

"It was frightening," Davis said.

Those in the neighborhood say they know bullets meant for someone else can strike anyone.

"Bullets come through walls, that's the scary part about it all," Davis said.

Neighbors say there is a police shot spotter in the area. It had to be fixed about a year-and-a-half ago because it was shot.

At this time, police are still searching for the other suspects involved in the shootout.
