"Chilling:" Disorderly, possibly armed person on coach bus arrested after pursuit from Wisconsin into Illinois



WADSWORTH, Illinois -- A person is in custody after the police pursuit of a Greyhound bus that ended near the Wisconsin-Illinois border late Friday, January 12th. Illinois State Police (ISP) say a disorderly and possibly armed subject was reported on the bus.

“You see it, and I almost got chills because it automatically looked like there was a fatality, like a car accident. Chilling, it was chilling to see," Jennifer Feddern who lives nearby said.

Incident on Greyhound bus ends in Wadsworth, IL


Officials say this incident began around 10:00 p.m. Friday when the pursuit involving the bus was initiated in southeast Wisconsin. The pursuit crossed into Illinois and ended at the I-94 eastbound exit ramp to Illinois Route 173.



Authorities say the subject was taken into custody around 12:30 a.m.

Approximately 37 passengers aboard the bus were safely removed -- and there are no injuries reported.



Greyhound officials brought a relief bus to the scene to pick up passengers and take them to Chicago.





Because of this incident, all lanes of southbound I-94 near Wisconsin 50 in Kenosha County were shut down for a time.
