Casey Thibodeaux

VERNON COUNTY, Wis. -- Authorities are searching for a convicted sex offender who cut off his GPS monitoring device, and may be in the Kenosha/South Milwaukee area.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff's Office, 37-year-old Casey Thibodeaux is on parole after being convicted back in 1997-1998 for first degree sexual assault.

Officials say Thibodeaux has been living in La Crosse, wearing a GPS monitoring device. On Friday, Jan. 12, officials say he cut off his bracelet at a Kwik Trip gas station located in La Crescent, Minnesota.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

Thibodeaux is described as a white man, standing 6'3" tall, weighing 230 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He is possibly driving a gray Ford Focus with no license plates. The car has a dent on the driver's side door -- and hitch on the back. It may have a Harley-Davidson sticker in the back window.
