Police: Dispute leads to gunfire near 39th and Wright in Milwaukee, man injured

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that happened Wednesday night, January 17th.

It happened near 39th and Wright around 6:30 p.m.

The preliminary investigation reveals that the victim, a 20-year-old man, was a passenger in a vehicle that was traveling on 39th Street.

Police say the vehicle came upon a dispute between two individuals. The dispute quickly escalated into gunfire. As the vehicle drove past the subjects in an attempt to flee the scene, the victim was shot.

He was transported to a local hospital by a friend. The victim is expected to survive his injury.
