Dodge County sheriff: Notorious 'Outlaws Motorcycle Club' opens clubhouse in Lomira

DODGE COUNTY -- Authorities are warning the well-known 'Outlaws Motorcycle Club' has opened a clubhouse in the Village of Lomira. Officials say this brings concern because the infamous motorcycle club has been known to bring criminal activity including drugs, weapons and violence.

From the hours of 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Friday, February 16th, the sheriff's office flooded areas throughout the county -- including around the new Outlaw clubhouse -- with deputies in what's called "high visibility criminal interdiction." The result: 23 traffic stops that included a variety of drug arrests and numerous traffic violations.

Friday, February 23rd, the Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt authorized the same type of high visibility patrols in the Lomira area and will continue to do so as needed.

“It is my sincere hope that the Outlaws are here only to have a good time in a legal way," Sheriff Schmidt said. "If that is not the case, we will be watching and will be prepared to respond accordingly. If they respect the law, they will have no problems with our law enforcement officers in the area.”

Officials want to be clear, the violations from the traffic stops conducted overnight February 16th, were not all from people attending the Outlaw clubhouse.

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office said in a news release Friday, February 23rd, "While we are certainly not implying that the individuals in this particular clubhouse are part of that activity, we would be remiss if we did not give proper attention to ensure the safety of our citizens."

The sheriff's office is asking the community to contact them with any violations of criminal activity that they see.

"Our efforts are meant to be high visibility in an attempt to deter criminal activity before it becomes a reality," the release said. "Please help us help you in keeping the village of Lomira safe."
