West Milwaukee shooting -- person of interest

WEST MILWAUKEE -- Neighbors said they're shocked after a shooting occurred near 54th and Mitchell in West Milwaukee Monday, March 19 -- and on Tuesday, police released a photo of a person of interest in the case.

"I was doing dishes and if the gunfire would have come through my kitchen window, I could have been injured," said a neighbor.

Police said one man was shot at his home -- three to four times. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

According to police, shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Monday, they received several calls regarding shots fired in the neighborhood, as did West Allis police.

They responded to the neighborhood, and located a subject and crime scene in an alley between 54th and 55th Sts. It was determined the shooting victim was at this location.

A 2-year-old child was removed from a home in the area -- reunited with the mother.

An investigation revealed prior to the shooting, there was a call that came in regarding a suspicious person. That suspicious person is the person of interest pictured above. Police say it is believed this individual may have information on the individual involved in the shooting.

Police said they have information on "suspects of interest" who were involved in the shooting, but the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information on the shooting, or the identity of the above pictured person of interest is asked to contact police.

A neighbor said he heard at least seven shots.
