Woman with disabilities pulled from burning home on Milwaukee's south side



MILWAUKEE -- Firefighters on Monday morning, June 4 responded to the scene of a house fire on Milwaukee's south side. One person had to be rescued, and that person was taken to the hospital.

It happened in the area of 11th and Oklahoma around 2:40 a.m.

Fire officials said when firefighters arrived on scene, an adult had evacuated, and informed firefighters that there was a woman with disabilities in the home. She was rescued by firefighters, and taken to the hospital.

The house suffered $76,000 in damage and there was an estimated $16,000 in damage to the contents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
