NEWS

General Assignment Reporter. FOX6 News is seeking an aggressive, enterprising reporter to join our team.  We have more news than any other television station in the state and need someone who is hungry and ready to get content on the air and online all the time.  Developing sources and breaking stories is what it’s all about, you MUST be able to demonstrate how you juggle sources, work contacts and develop exclusive content.  You must be able to demonstrate the stories on your resume reel are enterprised and not a handout from the assignment desk.  If you need the desk or a newspaper for stories, we don’t need you here.  These days being a great reporter includes using all the technology tools: online postings, social media, videography, and whatever gets invented next.  You must have at least 3 years experience.  You must be able to show your exceptional writing, story organization and live shot skills.  Timid and bland won’t cut it here.  You must be a team player who works well with photojournalists, editors, producers and mangers.  Send along a DVD or hyperlink of your best and most recent work.

Requirements. Degree in journalism or related field strongly preferred.  You must have at least 3 years of television news experience.  Successful completions of background check and drug screen required.

Morning Newscast Roving “Reporter.”  WITI’s WakeUp morning newscast is looking for a creative, energetic, “different” reporter in the field.  Different is in quotes for a reason.  You’re not a hard news reporter, but rather someone who is out giving us a look at life in Milwaukee—wherever that may take you (and us). However, you must also have the skills to cover hard news and breaking news when the need arises.

Requirements: You’re oozing personality.  You’re funny.  You’re willing to take risks.  You want to showcase great “people” stories.  You’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this.  You’re organized.  You’re a self-starter.   You’ve been itching for the chance to share your ideas, take chances and help contribute to a smart and fun local morning newscast.

If these words resonate, then you just might be who we’re looking for:

  • Well spoken
  • Team Player
  • VERY comfortable on camera
  • Knowledgeable of current events
  • Inquisitive and fun
  • GREAT at time management and juggling lots of tasks at the same time
  • A can-do kind of person – your glass is always “half full” rather than “half empty.”

You get to set up your own stories, go out on your own shoots and perform live several times each morning.  You’ll be live on location every day for two hours.

You also need to be a well-rounded reporter who can cover hard news with the need arises. Your resume reel needs to show you can handle breaking news live. These days being a great reporter includes using all the technology tools: online postings, social media, and whatever gets invented next.

Should you be a part of the Wake Up?  Show us!

Weekend Morning Newscast Meteorologist. FOX6 News is looking for an experienced broadcast Meteorologist to join the state’s top weather team.  We’ve got more than 40 years of collective Wisconsin forecasting experience and we’re seeking a dynamic meteorologist to add to our tradition of excellence.  You need to do it all: television, online, social networking and community outreach.  We’ve got state-of-the-art HD weather graphics, live HD Doppler radar and one of the premiere live weather site networks.  All the tools are here!  The person we’re looking for will work all shifts, including weekend morning newscasts where a dynamic personality is an absolute must.  We’re looking for more than just someone who figures out a forecast.  We’re seeking a great storyteller who uses all the technology to create dynamic, compelling weather segments, on-air and online.  We get a good amount of severe weather in both spring and winter, so hard work is a given in this position.  We’ve got Milwaukee’s only outside weather deck – so many times you’ll be “in” the weather while reporting on it. We’re not looking for someone who hypes weather events.  That’s not us.  But we are all about connecting with the community and being the premiere weather team in town that people can depend on.  An AMS sealed meteorologist with 2 to 4 years on-air experience is preferred for this position.

Real Milwaukee Roving “Reporter.” WITI’s Real Milwaukee morning show is looking for a creative, energetic, different “reporter” in the field.  Reporter is in quotes for a reason.  You’re not a hard news reporter, but rather someone who is out giving us a look at life in Milwaukee—wherever that may take you (and us).

Requirements. You’re oozing personality.  You’re funny.  You’re willing to take risks.  You want to showcase great “people” stories.  Social Media is your second language.   You’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this.  You’re organized and a self-starter.   You want the opportunity to share your ideas, take chances and help create a smart and fun local television show.  Oh, and if you’re okay with making a fool out of yourself sometimes, that would be good too.

If these words resonate, then you just might be who we’re looking for:

  • Well spoken
  • Team Player
  • VERY comfortable on camera
  • Stylish
  • Can think on your feet
  • Knowledgeable of current events
  • Inquisitive
  • GREAT at time management and juggling lots of tasks at the same time
  • A can-do kind of person – your glass is always “half full” rather than “half empty.”

You’ll get a top-notch photojournalist to partner with in making excellent local television.  You get to set up your own stories, go out on your own shoots and perform live each morning.  You’ll be live on location every day for an hour, and the rest of the day is chock full of other great content for you to gather and showcase.  Should you be a part of the Real Milwaukee team?  Show us!
