A massive undertaking by several groups is making a big difference in the community this Thanksgiving. The Brewers Community Foundation, 1290 WMCS, the Hunger Task Force, and the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department are leading the charge.

Truckloads of food donations those groups collected are going to the Guest House, a Milwaukee homeless shelter, and the Meta House, a treatment facility that helps women battling drug addictions.

"This is really going to help me because I wasn't able to afford Thanksgiving, so it was a big shocker for me," said Laura Johnson, who received a food basket.

The Brewers Community Foundation provided a $10,000 grant to the Meta House in addition to the food boxes.
