Erik Walden released on $1,000 signature bond

Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Erik Walden has been released from jail on a $1,000 signature bond. He spent the weekend in jail after being arrested Friday on suspicion of felony domestic violence/substantial battery.

Walden is accused of assaulting his girlfriend at their apartment near Green Bay. Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, court was closed for the weekend and Walden stayed in jail.

In court Monday, it was revealed that formal charges, if necessary, would not be issued until at least December 7th. That's because of conflicts in the victim's statements.
Immediately after the indicated argument, the victim told police Walden struck and pushed her. But in a later account, she told authorities she hit Walden first and that's how she hurt her thumb.
The 26-year-old Walden started all 11 games this season and played in the team's 27-15 Thanksgiving Day victory over the Lions. The team flew back from Detroit after the game and players were home by Thursday evening.
