Kohl's could move headquarters to Park East Corridor

MENOMONEE FALLS -- An exclusive story from the Business Journal: Kohl's could to move its corporate headquarters from Menomonee Falls to the Park East Corridor.

Multiple sources tell the Business Journal that city and county officials are putting together a financial incentive package which would include tax credits to lure the company to the downtown site. In fact, Kohl's reportedly requested the proposal for the Park East Corridor.

Attracting the Kohl's headquarters to downtown Milwaukee could add 5,000 jobs, and a new level of activity to a vacant eyesore in the heart of downtown Milwaukee.

Kohl's has been courted by a number of communities since it announced it had outgrown its Menomonee Falls headquarters. Menomonee Falls has also offered up a financial package in hopes of keeping the company in its village.

At this point, Kohl's is remaining tight-lipped about its plans.
