Dinner preparations underway for annual Christmas Feast

It's the season of giving, and Saturday was a big day of preparation for a Christmas dinner to feed hundreds in Milwaukee.

Volunteers got up bright and early to bust out the pots and pans.

Hundreds of volunteers pitched in to help get ready for the 22nd annual Christmas Family Feast. Organizers say the Christmas Feast started out as a dinner to feed those in need years ago. Now, it's for everyone. They say it's all about bringing the community together for the holidays.

Chef Gus Kelly says, "This dinner is different.  It's not just for the needy or the hungry.  It's for people who want to be together."

They expect to serve about 10,000 people on Christmas Day. The dinner starts at 11:00 a.m. at the Frontier Airlines Center in Milwaukee.
