Pipe bursts and causes flooding at Pfister Hotel

MILWAUKEE -- The historic Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee had to clean up after a flood this weekend.

A pipe burst in a stairwell somewhere near the seventh floor and flooded several rooms. The water ran for about 10 minutes before it was shut off.

Water-logged carpets in eight rooms will have to be torn out.

The Pfister Hotel's computer system went down as a result of the flooding, but the hotel and its restaurants were able to stay open.
