Helicopters at Frontier Airlines Center for EMS convention

MILWAUKEE -- Four helicopers landed at the Frontier Airlines Center in downtown Milwaukee Wednesday, and emergency medical workers from across Wisconsin are in town for their annual convention.

The EMS convention runs through Saturday, and more than 2,700 people are expected to take part.

The helicopters are provided by Flight for Life, Ministry Spirit Medical Transport, ThedaStar and UW Health Med Flight.

The keynote speaker for the convention is EMS Training Chief Mike Redshaw of the Joplin, Missouri Fire and EMS agencies, who will be sharing his experiences dealing with the Joplin tornado.

VISIT Milwaukee estimates the conference's economic impact at $1.5 million.
