TOWN OF RHINE — The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Monday morning on Golf Course Rd., just north of Garton Rd. in the Town of Rhine.

Officials say the driver of the car had been heading southbound on Golf Course Rd. around 9:20 a.m., when he lost control on the snow-covered, right-hand curve. The vehicle left the road, entered a ditch and then struck a tree.

When emergency crews got on the scene, the vehicle was still running. They had to break the driver’s side window to get the driver medical attention. The driver was unresponsive and efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. The driver died on the scene.

The name of the driver will be released Tuesday morning after relatives have been notified.
